For our Belgian client - a Belgian automotive company specializing in passenger car repairs - we are looking for candidates willing to work in the following position:

Car Mechanic
Location: Gent, Belgium

mechanic, car diagnostician, fault repair, car workshop

Scope of responsibilities

Performing thorough vehicle inspections to identify mechanical problems using diagnostic tools.
Performing routine maintenance services such as oil changes, brake replacements, tire rotations, and tune-ups. Repairing or replacing faulty components, including engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and other critical vehicle parts.
Diagnosing and repairing electrical problems, including problems with sensors, ignition systems, and computer control units.
Testing vehicles after repairs to ensure that problems have been resolved and that the vehicle meets safety and performance standards.
Maintaining accurate repair records of parts used and services performed on each vehicle.
Explaining vehicle problems and repair options to customers in a clear and professional manner, providing cost estimates, and answering any questions.
Complying with all safety protocols and environmental regulations, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and your co-workers.
Collaboration with other mechanics and service advisors to ensure excellent service and achieve workshop goals.
Single shift work (Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, occasionally Saturdays - in exchange for a day off during the week)

Sought-after competences

Minimum vocational education in the automotive field (mechanic, electromechanic, etc.)

Experience working as a car mechanic

Experience working with pneumatic systems, automotive electrical systems, and electromechanics

Experience diagnosing vehicle faults

Communicative English skills

Category B driving license

Precision and accuracy

Customer satisfaction orientation

Teamwork skills

Your own car is preferred

We offer

employment under Belgian conditions

guaranteed 38 hours of work per week

negotiable rate (from €19.85 gross/hour)

weekly salary

holiday allowance - based on the year worked (15.38% of gross annual earnings)

annual bonus - based on the year worked (8.33% of gross annual earnings) - provided you work at least 65 days between July of the current year and June of the following year

possibility of using company accommodation - €102/week (double room), €154/week (single room)

Option to purchase additional health insurance - €10 per month
